Less than 1.5 hours from Nice and its international airport, Auron reigns as the largest ski domain in the Alpes-Maritimes with 135 kilometers of slopes spread across 4 sectors (Las Donnas, Sauma Longue, Demandols, Lieuson). This authentic mountain village resort, founded in 1937, embodies perfect skiing between Mediterranean Sea and Mercantour National Park, blending mountain climate with Mediterranean influence for unique gliding experience. Labeled Family Plus and Green Snowflake (sustainability), Auron seduces skiers of all levels.

For alpine skiing, the domain offers 42 runs distributed in 3 green runs, 16 blue runs, 16 red runs and 8 black runs. Vertical drop of 850 meters (1,600m-2,450m) provides varied descents, from gently rolling plateau ideal for beginners to expert black couloirs. 70% of domain covered by snowmaking (429 cannons) guarantees optimal coverage from December through April. The 4 sectors offer different universes: 360° panorama, snowy alpages with traditional barns, verdant fir forests.

19 modern ski lifts ensure rapid access: 2 cable cars (Las Donnas + Télériou), 1 Pinatelle cable car (12 seats, directly links Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée village 1,140m), 4 modern detachable chairlifts, 5 fixed-grip chairlifts, 3 drag lifts and 3 magic carpets. Major 2025-2027 project: new Riou-Sauma Longue cable car (€25.7M, 4-season, 2,000 people/hour) linking sectors, plus giant zip line announced.

Complementary activities: 1 modern snowpark and family park, 50 kilometers of marked snowshoe trails, 50 km hiking paths, ski touring, ice climbing. VTT 50 km descents summer via 4-season bike park (17 FFC-labeled runs, 4 lifts, freestyle airbag). Night skiing on illuminated Blainon.

Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée village (1,140m): authentic with pastel facades, fountains, murals, heritage (1492 Romanesque Lombard church). Directly linked to resort by Pinatelle cable car. Mercantour National Park: snowshoe hiking, ski touring, alpinism with specialized local guides.
