Located between 900 and 1,350 meters altitude in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Natural Park, La Bresse - Hohneck is the largest ski resort in the Vosges massif and one of the most snow-rich in northeastern France. A quintessential family resort, it dominates the entire massif with exceptional panoramic views of the Vosges meadows, Hohneck (the second-highest Vosges peak) and the emblematic ridges. The area spans 220 hectares of pristine spruce forests, offering a preserved and authentic natural setting for all ski levels.
For alpine skiing, La Bresse - Hohneck offers 30 runs totaling approximately 50 kilometers with 5 green runs, 12 blue runs, 12 red runs and 1 black run, distributed across three complementary areas (La Bresse-Hohneck, Lispach and adjacent sectors). The area features over 450 meters of continuous vertical drop allowing long and varied descents. Snow coverage is guaranteed by an impressive network of over 300 snow cannons and 9 hectares of snowmaking, ensuring optimal conditions even during lighter snow winters. The area is served by 15 ski lifts including 6 chairlifts (2 high-performance detachable and 4 fixed-grip), 7 drag lifts and 2 covered magic carpets (Hansel and Gretel), ensuring smooth and rapid access to all slopes. Play areas "D-Izzy Land" equipped with magic carpets welcome beginners and children for safe learning.
For cross-country skiing, the La Bresse - Lispach Nordic area offers 50 kilometers of trails groomed for both classic and skating techniques, spread across 8 marked routes. The fundamental trails include 3 green trails (including discovery of 2.5 km, super discovery of 3 km), 2 blue trails (connections and extensions), and 3 red trails (including the famous "Les Champis" loop of 16 kilometers). All trails are groomed daily, tracked and secured, winding through majestic forests, mountain lakes, peat bogs and high-altitude plateaus. A free "Jardin d'Anicé" learning area allows beginners to discover cross-country skiing without extra costs, complemented by a Nordic' Park and biathlon space for enthusiasts.
La Bresse - Hohneck offers an exceptional wealth of complementary activities: 60 kilometers of marked snowshoe trails offering varied hikes from easy to difficult, with paid access to the Vologne Express chairlift allowing visitors to reach Chaume de Schmargult (1,182 m) and enjoy a unique 1.8-kilometer snowshoe hike with exceptional panoramic views; 7 kilometers of groomed pedestrian trails and hikes accessible to all; 2 groomed toboggan runs and festive toboggan evenings (1,600m of slopes privatized under the stars); Schlitte Mountain rail luge (900m of banked turns and a 340° spiral); "The Flying Donuts" snowtubing with giant tubes; night skiing on 8 lit runs every evening; dog sledding at Ballon d'Alsace (fallback activity); and ice skating. The resort also features play slopes for children, a snowpark, and Wiidoo'Gliss leisure park 10 minutes away offering varied summer and winter activities.
A large-scale ski resort combining modern facilities, exceptional diversity of on-snow and off-snow activities, guaranteed snowfall and the preserved natural beauty of the Vosges massif, La Bresse - Hohneck represents an ideal complete family destination for unforgettable vacations, easily accessible from Colmar, Mulhouse or Épinal, with warm and friendly atmosphere typical of the Vosges region.
