Nestled in the heart of the Cantal mountains between 1,160 and 1,850 meters altitude, Le Lioran resort spans 150 hectares of pine forests and pristine peaks. A family resort in the Massif Central, Le Lioran offers a modern, high-performance ski area with access to the legendary Plomb du Cantal which peaks at 1,855 meters altitude, accessible by cable car and offering exceptional 360-degree panoramic views over the Cantal mountains and the Planèze de Saint-Flour.

For alpine skiing, the Le Lioran area offers 60 kilometers of slopes with 10 green runs, 14 blue runs, 15 red runs and 5 black runs, spread across 44 marked trails for all levels. The base area benefits from optimal snow coverage thanks to a network of 250 snow cannons covering 70% of the ski area, guaranteeing excellent skiing conditions throughout the season. The area caters to beginners with a 2-hectare learning area equipped with 2 magic carpets, as well as experienced skiers with 2 freeride zones at Font d'Alagnon and La Combe, a snowpark with boardercross and a permanent slalom stadium. The area is served by 18 ski lifts including 1 cable car, 8 chairlifts and 6 drag lifts, ensuring smooth access to all sectors with a base area featuring 100% chairlifts for added comfort.

For cross-country skiing, Le Lioran and its extended Nordic area offer 50 kilometers of trails groomed for both classic and skating techniques, spread across several complementary sectors. At Le Lioran itself, a 3.5-kilometer multi-activity white trail at Font d'Alagnon with free access allows families to discover the activity with minimal elevation gain. The Col de Prat de Bouc, a true Nordic paradise located in a cirque against the Plomb du Cantal, offers 40 kilometers of trails with 2 green trails, 5 blue trails, 3 red trails and 2 orange trails, on the Plomb side and through the forest. The Ché site offers an additional 15 kilometers of forest trails suitable for families, while Cézens provides 5 kilometers of easy trails in a secluded forest atmosphere.

The resort also features a rich network of complementary Nordic activities with 16 kilometers of marked snowshoe trails starting from Le Lioran, supplemented by 20 kilometers at Prat de Bouc including 4 routes from 3 to 12 kilometers in forest or panoramic settings, a single-track trapper trail at Le Ché, and an 8.2-kilometer multi-activity white trail of the plateaus between Prat de Bouc and Le Ché. The area offers 8 kilometers of groomed pedestrian trails, 1 snowpark with varied modules, a boardercross, night skiing on 3 runs, toboggan areas, and even an alpine ski touring route to the Plomb du Cantal with 460 meters of positive elevation gain.

So big, so close, Le Lioran resort represents a complete destination for the whole family, easily accessible from Clermont-Ferrand in 1h35, combining modern facilities, diverse on-snow and off-snow activities, and the authenticity of an exceptional natural environment in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park.
