Between Ain and Haute-Savoie, on the heights of the Grand-Colombier massif, Sur-Lyand reigns as a convivial and authentic resort, perched between 1,250 and 1,350 meters altitude. Nestled in the heart of the Grand-Colombier Natural Sensitive Area, this winter destination offers breathtaking 360° panorama with views of Mont-Blanc, the Alps chain and alpine lakes. Labeled 2 Sapins Nordic France since 2015 for quality of service and amenities, Sur-Lyand embodies convivial Nordic skiing, mountain relaxation and preserved nature.

For cross-country skiing, the domain offers 17 kilometers of daily-groomed trails, accessible in classic and skating styles: 2 easily accessible green runs, 1 intermediate blue run and 1 red run for advanced skiers. Learning is particularly gentle thanks to a fun area dedicated to groups and beginners, with rope tow. A ski touring route (5.3 km one-way) completes the offer for lovers of grand panoramic spaces. A free 100-seat rest room allows shelter from bad weather. Equipment rental (skis, snowshoes, sleds) available on-site with welcoming staff.

For snowshoeing, 31 kilometers of marked trails at all levels unfold their magic: 14.7 km of groomed paths, plus the 5.3 km touring route and several variants exploring Grand-Colombier crests, Hauteville Plateau Crests, the Natural Sensitive Area and mountain lakes (Lac de Lessy, Lac Blanc, Lacs Jovet). Every hike offers breathtaking Mont-Blanc views, among the most spectacular snowshoe experiences in Bugey-Jura.

Complementary activities: 1 groomed toboggan run offering family sledding fun, daily dog sledding excursions (major specialty, featured at annual Nordic Festival), electric fatbike (summer-winter per conditions), airboard, snow-kiting on plateaus, and biathlon initiation (laser rifle shooting + Nordic skiing). Annual Nordic Festival (17th edition 2025): dog sled races, nanaloppet, marathons, demonstrations, equipment showcases.

On-site: Sur-Lyand Auberge for warm dining, free 100-seat rest room, complete equipment rental, welcoming staff. Easy access: 40 minutes from Rumilly, 10 km from Seyssel/Corbonod via D123 route toward Col de la Biche.

The Sur-Lyand spirit: a family convivial resort where preserved nature, varied activities, grand panoramas and warm hospitality create the perfect mountain experience for Nordic skiing beginners, families, cross-country skiers, snowshoe lovers and snow adventurers.
