Must-Sees: Aiguille du Midi & Mer de Glace Before even clicking into your skis, Chamonix offers two global "Bucket List" experiences. The Aiguille du Midi cable car propels you to 3842 meters altitude for the most beautiful panorama in the Alps and the thrill of "Step into the Void" (a glass box suspended over a 1000m drop). Conversely, the famous Red Train of Montenvers winds through larch trees to drop you at the foot of the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice), France's largest glacier and an eternal testament to nature's power.

The Vallée Blanche: The Adventure of a Lifetime For experienced skiers, Chamonix is the starting point for the Vallée Blanche. More than just a run, it is a 20 km unmarked glacial off-piste itinerary (2800m vertical drop) in the heart of the massif, accessible from the Aiguille du Midi. A mystical experience that must be undertaken with a High Mountain Guide, who can also introduce you to ice climbing or paragliding facing Mont Blanc.
