Located between 1,250 and 3,250 meters altitude in Tarentaise in Savoie, La Plagne is one of Europe's largest alpine resorts and the heart of the Paradiski area, the world's second-largest connected ski domain with 425 kilometers of slopes connected to Les Arcs via the legendary Vanoise Express cable car. The resort unfolds across a mosaic of ten high-altitude sites and villages spread over vast territory: Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre, Plagne Aime 2000, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Villages, Plagne Soleil, Belle-Plagne, Montchavin-Les Coches, Champagny-en-Vanoise and Montalbert, offering exceptional diversity of atmospheres and landscapes.
For alpine skiing, La Plagne offers 225 kilometers of slopes spread across 136 runs of all levels, with 9 green runs, 73 blue runs, 34 red runs and 18 black runs. The area spans 1,250 to 3,250 meters altitude, with 70% of slopes above 2,000 meters, guaranteeing optimal snow coverage throughout the season. A network of 483 snow cannons covers over 70% of the ski area, ensuring perfect conditions even during lighter snow winters. The area offers great diversity with blue runs allowing traversal of the entire domain gently, red and black runs offering technical challenges, and "D-Izzy Land" play areas equipped with covered magic carpets for safe learning. The alpine area is served by 73 ski lifts including 2 modern cable cars, 11 cable cabins (including the new Roche de Mio operational December 2025 with intermediate station), 29 chairlifts, and 27 drag lifts, complemented by 5 magic carpets, ensuring smooth and rapid access to all sectors.
For cross-country skiing, La Plagne offers 55 kilometers of trails groomed for both classic and skating techniques, spread across several complementary Nordic areas: Champagny-en-Vanoise (23 km, labeled "3 Nordiques"), Montchavin-Les Coches (16 km), Versant du Soleil (Granier 8 km, Côte d'Aime – Valezan 12 km). Trails wind through majestic forests, mountain lakes, glaciers and high-altitude plateaus, from beginner to advanced skiers. A total of 80 kilometers of skating/classic trails is available across all areas.
La Plagne offers an exceptional palette of complementary activities: 80 kilometers of marked snowshoe trails offering thirty different trekking routes of varying difficulty starting from Champagny-en-Vanoise, La Plagne Valley, Montchavin and Montalbert; 80 kilometers of groomed and marked pedestrian trails for family winter walks; 1 snowpark of 2.5 hectares in the heart of the slopes featuring Europe's longest fun slope, plus 2 additional freestyle zones; 1 groomed toboggan run; France's only Olympic bobsleigh, luge and skeleton run (1,500 meters, 19 turns) offering public baptism experiences in Bob Raft (80 km/h), Speed Luge (90 km/h), Bob Racing (120 km/h) or Olympic Experience (130 km/h); night skiing on the slopes of Les Arcs; and many other varied winter activities.
A large-scale sporty and family resort combining modern facilities, exceptional ski area diversity, guaranteed snow coverage, and access to the world's second-largest connected ski domain, La Plagne represents a complete destination for unforgettable vacations at all levels, easily accessible from Lyon, Geneva or Chambéry, with authentic and friendly Alpine atmosphere.
