For alpine skiing, the Sixt Fer à Cheval sector offers 34 kilometers of slopes with 2 green runs and 4 blue runs, ideal for families, beginners and children in a safe and welcoming environment. The area is directly connected to the Grand Massif via the famous Piste des Cascades, a 14-kilometer blue run descending from the summit of Flaine along the nature reserve, offering exceptional panoramic views of the Fer à Cheval cirque and the Rouget waterfall, known as the Queen of the Alps. The alpine area is served by 4 drag lifts, and the entire zone benefits from artificial snowmaking to guarantee good conditions throughout the season.
For cross-country skiing, Sixt Fer à Cheval offers one of the finest Nordic areas in Haute-Savoie with 80 kilometers of trails groomed for both classic and skating techniques. The Fer à Cheval sector features 4 trails including 1 green trail and 3 blue trails, notably a 10-kilometer loop from Le Molliet to the heart of the legendary Fer à Cheval cirque at 900 meters altitude. These trails wind through forests and valleys in a pristine environment at the gateway to the nature reserve, with intermediate circuits allowing skiers to create custom routes according to their preferences and skill level.
The resort also offers a groomed toboggan run, marked snowshoe trails and groomed winter footpaths allowing visitors to discover the Fer à Cheval cirque without needing snowshoes.
