Arc 1950 Le Village: the upmarket car-free gem of Les Arcs. A true exception in the Alps, Arc 1950 is an entirely pedestrian village whose residences hold a 5-star rating. Built in the style of a Savoyard village around lively lanes and its clock tower, it offers the ultimate ski-in/ski-out experience: wherever you stay, you step straight onto the slopes and ski school meeting points. Easily reached from Bourg-Saint-Maurice station via the Les Arcs Express funicular (formerly Arc-en-Ciel) and the free inter-village shuttles, this cosy, intimate village has become a benchmark for luxury ski holidays with the family.

Privileged access to the 425 kilometres of the Paradiski ski area. Set at 1,950 metres in the Arc 2000 valley, the village enjoys quality snow cover all winter long. It is linked to Arc 2000 by the Cabriolet, a small gondola running during the day and in the evening, as well as by the slopes. From there, the Varet gondola and the cable car lead to the summit of the Aiguille Rouge at 3,226 metres, the starting point of the legendary 7-kilometre run down to Villaroger, with over 2,000 metres of vertical drop. From the Col de la Chal, skiers head over to Arc 1800, Peisey-Vallandry and the Vanoise Express to reach La Plagne. Forest runs, high-altitude terrain and sporty slopes cater for every level.

Wellness, entertainment and family ski holidays. In the heart of the village, the Deep Nature Les Sources de Marie spa, covering around 1,000 m², offers a unique mineral world facing Mont Blanc, with themed grottoes (aquatic, volcanic and frosted) and a hot-and-cold sensory circuit. Daily entertainment in the lanes, kids' clubs and shops make Arc 1950 an ideal destination for hassle-free family ski holidays, in keeping with the Famille Plus label. Just minutes away, Arc 2000 completes the offer with its toboggan run and igloo village, creating the perfect blend of relaxation, Savoyard cuisine and premium services.

History and practical information: the youngest village of Les Arcs. Unlike its modernist elders, Arc 1950 was designed in the 2000s in a revisited traditional Alpine style, with lauze slate roofs, stone and wood. The project was developed by Robert Jérôme for the Canadian group Intrawest, also behind major North American resorts such as Whistler. The first residences opened in 2003, the very year Paradiski was created, and the village was completed in 2008. Its residences hold the Green Key eco-label for their environmental management. In practical terms, the heart of the village is entirely pedestrian, with a paid covered car park beneath the residences, while the free inter-village shuttles and the Cabriolet make it easy to reach Arc 2000 and the rest of Les Arcs.
